Col Mehmet ASLANTAŞ is the Director and Turkish senior national representative at the NATO’s Centre of Excellence for the Defence Against Terrorism (COE-DAT) in Ankara, Turkey. As the Director, Colonel ASLANTAŞ leads all aspects supporting the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation in his effort to transform NATO in the field of counterterrorism.

Colonel ASLANTAŞ graduated from the Turkish Military Academy as an Infantry Officer in 1993 and from the Infantry School in 1995. He has deployed to Georgia as a United Nations Military Observer and Afghanistan as an IJC NMCC CFT Team Leader. He has served as a Platoon Leader, Company Commander, and Logistics and Support Battalion Commander prior to assignment at COE-DAT. At COE-DAT he has served in multiple positions culminating with his appointment as the Director. Col ASLANTAŞ is married to Cavidan ASLANTAŞ, with one son.
